This planning effort aims to provide an integrated, high-level climate change vulnerability study to help guide County policies, projects, and budget priorities. This project is ongoing and resources will be added as they are completed. You can also visit the County of Maui Climate Action Through Engagement (ClimATE) Hub to learn more about the other efforts underway across the islands of Maui County.
This project includes significant community engagement across the three populated islands of Maui County: Maui, Molokai, and Lānaʻi. First, our team developed a community survey, distributed to all residents of Maui County in February 2022. The results of this survey informed the discussions at a stakeholder workshop in March. Finally, in June we completed a series of three virtual Talk Story sessions that focused on more remote areas of the county: the islands of Molokai and Lānaʻi and the communities of East Maui.
ClimateWise grows its programs through the generous support of caring people who believe we can and must do a better job addressing climate change for our children and those who will follow.
